National Rank Program

The USMAF's Policy on Martial Arts Rank or Grade Levels is not unique among traditional and ethical martial art organizations.

First of all, the USMAF is committed to providing a  National Rank Program that is  Ethical, Non-Political and is designed to ensure Proper Promotions for all USMAF members. The "Key Point" to remember is that Instructors test & promote their own students in their own particular systems. The USMAF  National Rank  Program has a solid foundation beginning at the National Level.with the Central Technical Committee cooperating with the below Nationally Recognized Martial Art Organizations (NRMAO) . The  USMAF Central Technical Committee has the responsibility for the over-all structuring, function, management, and administration for the USMAF System s and  the National Rank Program.  Within the  USMAF organizational structure, under the Central Technical Committee,  there are the General Divisions for each Category of Martial Arts.  ( An  " example " of a General Division is the KARATE Division.  Each style or system of Karate that is represented in the USMAF has a Sub-Committee. ) The USMAF Sub-Committees manage , and as appropriate, cooperate (at the National Level) with the below listed NRMAOs in maintaining the Highest Standards for Rank Requirements, Testing Procedures, and Promotion Administration for each of the  recognized styles or systems . Each Sub-Committee is responsible to provide comprehensive "written" rank requirements and training guidelines for their particular style or system.  In addition, the Sub-Committee is responsible for establishing & maintaining the testing procedures.
