USMAF Leadership Training..!!

 USMAF Mandatory Leader Training -
The below is a guide. Laws vary by state. Please make sure you are compliant per either your state requirements or the state in which the activity is being held.

SafeSport Core Training
This organization requires all members to be SafeSport Act Compliant. This does not mean US Center for SafeSport Compliance required by NGBs. There are two parts to the act and registering for our background check and taking the SafeSport compliant course are required for those members who this act states compliance is required. Again, this is not NGB compliance but we will accept documentation of NBG Center for SafeSport compliance.
Both the SafeSport Trained comprehensive course and the Parent Training helps you to recognize if an athlete is being abused, and most importantly you will learn how to prevent this from happening, or how to respond and help if the abuse has already happened. By taking this training, you are a part of the daily effort to make the well-being of the athlete the centerpiece of sport programs.

The SafeSport online training course is 90 minutes long, and costs $20 per person.
This cost provides individuals with technical support and a U.S. Center for SafeSport Trained certificate is issued at the end of the course. The cost also allows the parent course and athlete training resources available for free which you will have access to. The training will also be available with translations in Spanish and French. The abbreviated course for parents is available at no cost.

USMAF Background Screening

Concussion Training -
Concussion Law
Many states, schools, and sports leagues and organizations have created policies or action plans on concussion in youth and high school sports. While these policy efforts show some promise, more research is needed to learn if these strategies can help educate coaches and parents about this issue and help protect children and teens from concussion and other serious brain injuries.

How do I complete my concussion training?

You will be required to complete the Heads Up Concussion Training  and upload a valid certificate of completion in your SportsEngine account along with completing your background screening and acknowledge the following:
  • Understand a concussion and the potential consequences of this injury,
  • Recognize concussion signs and symptoms and how to respond,
  • Learn about steps for returning to activity (play and school) after a concussion, and
  • Focus on prevention and preparedness to help keep athletes safe season-to-season.
  • It is recommended that you keep a copy of your completed CDC certificate for your personal records and also forward us a copy.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training -
Several states have proposed or adopted legislation requiring the placement of AEDs in health clubs and gyms, school athletic events or settings, and other public spaces. The 50-state AED list below links to third-party resources (AED Brands and AED Universe) that track AED laws in each state.

The state profiles include summaries of requirements for use, Good Samaritan protection, and a list of laws and legislation. Please note that we do not endorse the content of third-party resources. We do not affirm that the information is up to date.

CDC is committed to preventing violence so that everyone can be safe and healthy.  The CDC Violence Prevention Course

CPR Training Saves Lives -

With a half-million cardiac arrests each year, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) can help save a life if a person's breathing or heart stops. It's not just for healthcare workers and emergency responders. In fact, CPR can double or triple the chance of survival when bystanders take action. The American Red Cross helps train you safely, effectively and confidently, so you're prepared for the minutes that matter the most.  American Red Cross CPR classes are designed for the way you live, and learn. With options available on weekdays and weekends, plus online, instructor-led and blended learning course formats, you can get the CPR training you need on your schedule. From personalized learning to interactive scenarios to peer-to-peer learning and hands-on skills practice, our world-class instruction will give you the skills and confidence to perform this life-saving procedure when it's needed the most.  When it comes to CPR, it's important to know how to treat both kids and adults. That's why, unless you sign up for a class that focuses on one population, our CPR trainings cover the procedures/steps for caring for adults, as well as children. Although we will prepare you to deliver care when it's needed most, the truth is, if you don't use your skills regularly, you're likely to lose them. So, to help prevent or mitigate loss of skills we offer online refresher materials that can help you retain the knowledge you've gained. In addition, we also provide you with access to a printable list of the basic steps for performing CPR. This way, you can keep the information you need right at your fingertips.
